We
all know gym memberships can be very expensive nowadays, costing in the region
of £30- £40, especially if you’re a student. But now there is a cheaper
solution to work out in your local area: OUTDOOR GYMS
A UK
based company TGO (The Great Outdoor Gym Company), is the first company to develop
fitness equipment for the outdoors. With over 400 sites across the UK, TGO gyms
are greener then the traditional indoor gym.
Even
if you’re not aware how to use the equipment the website gives you ‘how to
use’ demo videos, which will show you how to use each piece of equipment, the
video will also give you tips on what muscles each equipment will build. Some of the equipment has QR codes where you can scan an equipment and get the ‘how to use’ video straight to you device. Even if you’re
a beginner or an advanced fitness fanatic, TGO gyms is great for all abilities. For more information click here!
The Equipment
The
different equipment the outdoor gyms include is:
- Chest Press
- Cross Trainer
- Hand Bikes
- Leg Press
- Steps
- Recumbent Bike
- Seated Row
- Shoulder Press
- Ski Machines
- Treadmill
TGO gyms have also gone green, by launching four cardiac workout equipment’s that generate electricity. The Cardio Charge can charge mobile phones while you work out.
And no need to worry about safety
TGO
gyms have met with the play standards as well as fitness standards and the
European standards, and are suitable for unsupervised parks, especially where
children are likely to access them. They have also worked with the BSI on the outdoor gym product specification PAS888 to ensure the safety of all equipment. For more information check here.

Great ideas to encourage more people into being active, especially as this country has such a high obesity rate!
