The number of fitness apps available is endless as the options they provide. Whether your goal is to monitor your workout, find a gym, track your progress or lose weight, there is an app for you. GymJam


GymJam is another free app for iOS that allows users to find every Gym,
Health Club and Leisure Centre in the UK. With GymJam it is possible to find a gym, view class timetables (not available for all gyms) and keep motivated by sharing progress with friends. Besides providing useful information on sporting facilities, the app aims to promote user interaction enabling consumers to add a gym class on the personal calendar, keep track of attendance and membership costs, and of course interact with other gym friends sharing workout tips and progresses through a‘Whats-App’ style chat (Active in Time Ltd, 2012).  The app at the moment is only available in the UK.

Runkeeper


Runkeeper uses the GPS in your smart phone to track your fitness activities

and is able to coach you through the headphones as you run. The app allows users to monitor pace, distance, and calories burned and to measure progress against specific goals. Other fun gadgets include the possibility of listening and controlling music, and taking and sharing pictures during the workout (Google, 2014). Runkeeper is available for both iOS and Androids and is used by more than 28 million people from around the world.
